Guest Services Team As a Guest Services Team Member you will be exposed to a variety of jobs. Team Leaders and park managers provide training in cash handling, public relations, park beautification, and many more areas in this important department of the park. Front Gate Cashiers Front Gate Cashiers are responsible for greeting the Guests and selling the Whitewater Passes for Sandcastle. Personable, friendly, customer service oriented people who are comfortable with handling money are a must for these positions. Turnstile Attendants/Greeters After the Guests purchase their passes the Turnstile Attendants will greet them. These Attendants also welcome the Guests and provide them with wristbands for admittance to the park. Sweeps A sweep is responsible for beautifying the park area and assisting Guests as needed. They are not limited to keeping the park clean. Sweeps must be familiar with park trivia and all information necessary for the Guests' pleasant experience at Sandcastle. Locker/Lost & Found Attendants The Guests and the Park place a great deal of trust in these Team Members to safeguard Guest belongings. These attendants are responsible for maintaining the daily locker rentals, tracking items in lost and found, and responding to questions from Guests. Tube Rental Attendants/Cashiers For some attractions, tubes are rented. These Team Members maintain that rental area and assist Guests as needed. |

Lifeguards There are many benefits to becoming a Sandcastle Lifeguard. You will acquire skills that last a lifetime, including customer service, first aid, CPR and lifeguard training. Applicants must be at least fifteen years of age and have successfully completed the Ellis Lifeguard Training Classes, which our Sandcastle Management Team provides. Team Members in this department have a high level of interaction with Guests and have the most opportunity to ensure the Guests have a safe and pleasurable visit to Sandcastle. In-service training is provided and required throughout the summer for the lifeguards. Food & Beverage Staff Working in the Food & Beverage Department at Sandcastle provides Team Members with variety of opportunities. Sandcastle Team Leaders will train these Team Members on customer service skills, cash handling, and food preparation. Personable, friendly, customer service oriented people who are comfortable with handling money are a must for these positions. Sandbar Team The Sandcastle Nightlife Team Members provide our over 21 Guests with food, beverages, and entertainment on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. As with the Food & Beverage Department at Sandcastle these Team Members are trained on customer service skills, cash handling, and food preparation. Personable, friendly, customer service oriented people who are comfortable with handling money are a must for these positions. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Games Staff The Games Department Team Members bring fun to the Boardwalk! Daily duties include operating exciting games, prize distribution, plush inventory, and money handling. Individuals who enjoy social interaction, while calling on playful competition in an outside atmosphere, are encouraged to apply to this department. Parking Lot Attendants As the first Team Members our Guests meet, a Parking Attendant's job is very important for many reasons. After directing cars, parking attendants are frequently asked questions about the park. First Aid Staff Positions for Paramedics and EMT's in the First Aid Stations at Kennywood and Sandcastle are filled through UPMC Mckeesport Department of EMS. Security Staff The Sandcastle Security Department consists of Pennsylvania State certified security or police officers. Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age and be Act 120 or Act 235 certified with good public relation skills. Security Team Members assist Guests with park information, patrol park grounds, and other duties that ensure that our Guests have a safe day while visiting the waterpark. Maintenance Crew The park strives to maintain high maintenance and cleanliness standards. Although the Maintenance Team most often works behind the scenes, the work does in fact influence the Guests' opinion of the park. The cleanliness, attention to detail, and quality control, help deliver an excellent product. Jobs in the department include, but are not limited to, landscaping, pool water testing/cleaning, and maintaining the grounds. |

What you need to know
Sandcastle is a seasonal park. It is open for the 2008 season from June 7 –August 24 and August 30 -September 1, 2008. Limited pre- and post-season part-time work is available. We need people for a variety of work schedules, including weekends.
All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, physical handicap or veteran status. Most jobs require applicants to be at least sixteen years of age. There are, however, some positions available for fifteen-year-olds.
What we need to know
- Proof of Age All Team Members must produce one of the following documents to verify age: Valid Driver's License or Permit, Birth Certificate, or Passport. If you are under the age of 18 you must have a work permit.
- Social Security Number All Team Members must be able to provide social security numbers.
- Proof of Eligibility to Work in the U.S. Because of immigration laws, all Team Members must produce one of the following documents to prove they can legally work in this country: Social Security Card, U.S. Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, Resident Alien Card, or Certificate of Naturalization.
- Proof of Identity One of the following photo identification documents will prove your identity: Valid Driver's License or Permit, School ID, Military ID, State Issued ID, U.S. Passport, Resident Alien Card, or Certificate of Naturalization.
Job Application and Interview Schedule
2008 Sandcastle applicants should report as follows
- Applications and interviews begin March 8.
- Hours for applications/interviews are Saturdays from 9 am - 2 pm and weekdays 3:30 - 5:30 pm.
- Times and Dates are for both Kennywood and Sandcastle positions. Interviews for both Kennywood and Sandcastle are held at Kennywood.
- Upon arrival, check in at Guest Relations at the main entrance. The Officer will direct you to the interview location.
- The minimum age for all applicants is fifteen.
- Interviews are held at the time of application.
